Uhhhh. ITS TEH BOY RACER!

Yeah. It looks so boy racer. That we may start a new boy racer dingy trend! xD

Black... Blue... Green... [not to forget the orange chairs! xD]

Our plan was to paint it orange and call it the Mangonificant. Obviously were not going down that road. All it needs now is neon lights round the sides and stuff. xD Hmmmm maybe wheels too. And a skyline or ferari engine. Hmmmm... xD

Isnt it Beutiful! xD. I was gonna buy some moshi maro [the thing on the site banner] car stuff. Like seat covers and things. But... they wernt water proof so I decided not to...

Looks like were nearly finshed eh? Well we still have the middle line thingy to put in and another coat of paint. Shipleys all ready nailed down the side parts that you can see dont look quite attached yet. Andd ermmm... thats about it.

Apart from boating I found a dead bird today! =D Secound one i found in my whole life. And it looks exactly the same as the first one!

I think my photography skill are getting better! xD Even though this picture seems moraly wrong. I think the quality is amazing. Especially with my piece of crap excuse for a camera!

So far in a nutshell we have..

Yet again the liquid stuff that comes out the tube too often. That filler gap stuff.We have a new suspect person. Shipley! Thats right he has also been whoring teh stuff! Bad Shipley! But I must admit he did a good job on the runner at the back. He used his finger to smooth it down so it doesnt look so clunky and boggy! Still...

Also Stephens bowling tourniment was a great success. Due to poorly weather the game had to end earlier than expect [by 10min]. But Stephens team won by a whole point! Well done Stephen!

See, see they even gave him a "members" shirt! He gets the jacket once hes payed the club money! oooooooHHHHhhhhHH! XD. A shame Billy wasnt there to see it.

Speacking of Billy. Her Grandfather isnt too well at the moment. So best of luck to him! =].

And what we have all been waiting for. Because Nadia is very elite [notice how its spelt correctly =P], she has finally worked out a way of getting the photos from her phone to the computer without using a cable! Its a secret but anyway. Heres the boat when we first brought it!

And heres some patch working as I was explaining in an earlier post!

Yup. Exactly how I explained it.Of course the fibre glass was then put over between the new wood and the old wood.

And and and and while I'm really excited about it! WE FINALLY HAVE A FUCKING ENGINE! A good one it is too. Thank you Robert for selling it to us and thank you Darren for hosting it for us =]. Please ignore the laughter of the person in the background. We think it may be a virus that got into the video while transfering or something like that. We do not know that person! >_<"*

Well looking through the rest of the photos... We have also painted the boat black. We made many more trips to Bunnings. And left with Fence Water Based paint for the inside. And a great amount it was!

Thats the colour we painted our boat. Its not actully black but "Carchol Grey" Something like that anyway. Yes...moving on.

And the paint gets put on. YAY!

Day 8

For the sake of being told off last time I did'nt make an entry before 8pm. Heres an update. Note: I thought you should all know that Shipley is now being aware of what he says incase I write it here. =P

Uhhh I forgot what I wrote yesturday. But today was just as intresting as yesturday. =/ It was just sanding the inside. It gets so much more intresting by the day eh?

Yeah thats about all I've done. I would have done more if there was more sanding paper.. =/. But the inside is a bit harder to sand. Too many curves and bumps. xD. I was gonna write this whole post in l33t. But considering I'm too 1337 for most readers it would be a very big waste of typing time! Ummm yeah. =/

I could have hand sanded it. Well actully I did. But It got as far as this.

Yeah a single line! After using all the yellow stuff I thought maybe it could be easier just hand sanding it for those little tiny bits. Hmmm... Maybe not! =P.

So when does this sander report come in?
I think nows a good time actully. I have another hour to use up before I do some family stuff. xP [yukkie!]

Before I start I would like you all to know that my experience with these sanders has come to about 4 days. And in hours.. well, enough! xD. Also there both made by the same company so...yeah. Preformance is important! [xD ahaha]

As you can see this one is 180W. To use this great vibrating device you just put your index finger under the handle and push the button. Sounds great eh? xD. Let go of the button and it stops. Good for power saving... err energy enfficant? Bah, botherd! But it gets better for those you like to be energy whores and just leave it on and on. On the reverse side theres a tiny, tiny button. Like... one of those reset buttons on electronic gizmos but it sticks out. While you have you index finger on the bigger button you would simply use your tumb to puch down on the slightly smaller button. Vola. It stays switched on. If only other things that required fingers and thumbs were so much simplier. Like cameras! xD. Out of both of them this one is also lighter and in my opinion has more movement in it. Like a quick little squiral thingy! Its good for light jobs. But not smoothing down an entrie boat! >_<;;

But I say hands down to this moster!! 250W of vibrations! Sounds good already doesnt it? But something I love most about this sander is that fact that they have clearly labled in bold on both sides "Dustless Sander". When obviously looking at that garage floor after a whole day of sanding with that ITS FULSE ADVERTISING! I bet those things were made in america! xD. Anyway, this one adds slightly more strain on the ole wrist. And I wouldnt recomend it for high places. And unlike our smaller friend. The turning on processes is much more simplier. Like the Game Boy switch you just slide it and its on! xD Its even labled for safty reasons whens its off and on. Witch can be handy during the times your replacing the sand paper and you switch it off the wall but unsure if you switched it off on the actual machine too.

The bigger guy gets my vote ^___~. Power and energy wasting is what its all about! It also holds the paper in place better. But its more prone to rip it if you apply to much presure than the smaller one. =/

And as for the dog. He was a good boy today. Probably because I was mainly sanding the top of the boat and he couldnt reach the sander! AHAHa pwnt!

Day 7

Reporting live from the hard core boat action. Nadia is teh ingered! [sp?]

More about that later. But what happened last night? Well... believe it or not but a bunch of old people got in our way!

Thats right. BOWLS! Stephen, Billy, Shipley and Matt have been kidnapped and brain washed into old peoples sporting events!!! I also particapated in this event last night. I cant say I wasnt having that much fun. Apart from the times I kicked Stpehens ass! But then again that joy only lasted a few moments =/. Stephen made it into the tounry of old people bowls beause he meets there standerds!!!

We found an 4 power Johnson hourse power engine for only $400!!! When we can afford it is entriely a differnt matter!

Appartently more fibre glassing went on later in the say but tgars about it =/

As for today not that much actully happend! Apart from much sanding and this!!!

EWWW!!! of course fist thign I did was take a photo to show every one! But thats not all!!! There was also dog attacking involved and yeah. Dog bit my hands to the point I couldnt actully pick up a heavy vibrating hand tool. ='[. So I spent the rest of the day falling asleep with the dog next to me awww!!!! Then the Canadian flat mate [frgot her name.. Kristy?SORRY!!] Ummm yweah she wokle me up =[. Then I ate noodles and watched TV. As far as progerss today. Not that much has actully happend. Sounds like I been slake eh? Ahwells.

Maybe a update when I get home! I'm still to write a comparison on the two differnt sanders! Theres ALOT to write!!! >_<;; And ahem... a CV but that can wait! =P

Day 6

Thats right. Its been six whole days! And I'm here by myslef sanding this piece of boat. Well not really. I cant sand and type at the same time. Unless I was using a wireless keyboard. But I'm not... anyway back on topic!

This morning...
Was spent at Bunnings! And dun dun dun... Place Maker [or was it pace maker? I dunno]. Trip number 3 in Bunnings was probably a complete waste of time. We picked up some masks and looked for more fibre glass sheets. It was slightly more expensive than we intended it to be. So we dicieded to go somewhere else! =D While leaving the masks behind! =]. Shipley was going on about Mitre 10 across the road. We went across the road. Wheres Mitre 10? Hmmm maybe not =P. But there was a Place Makers and a crap load of other DIY places not too far from there. There like... all bunched up. "Christchruch, we're all DIY whores here ;]" Anyway... got the less expensive fibre glass and the masks then went on our merry way back to the boat[moblie] xD.

I hafta say... these masks are real bad ass!

Of course there were some nicer more expenisve wippy do da ones. But comon its all about simplictly people! Aslong as they do the job. Thats what you pay money for! =]. What you dont pay money for is a mask that looks like a giant sainitry towel! [why oh why did I not take my camera into the shops =(]. But what would have been cool is one of those giant gas masks you get from those world war one times!

These things!! Dude.. thats style right there! Plus it would prevent getting dust in the eyes. I noticed while sanding that I could either protect my eyes or protect my inhalement =/. But not both. Due to the glass fogging up each time you breath. Now what would be worst. Not seeing? or.. not breathing? They both suck in my opinion. But I went with the not seeing thing. And came to this great, but very dodgy way of sanding! =D. A way that no one will ever see but the dog... unless I was wearing jeans. But I wasnt so... xD

In my opinion it wasnt really nessercry to put a load of gunk there. Putty would have been better! =D. From much observation of liquid nails. My fasination has lead me to believe this stuff is a load of bollox. Or we're just not using it properly. Most of it still isnt dry and it doesnt seem as strong as Ive been told. But then again its early days. So =/

As the rest of the day goes on. All thats been happening is sanding and messing around with teh dog. As much as I love sanding and getting the sander attacked by the dog I think I might leave it here for now and update later on if we decide to work on it later on. =/.

This has absolutly nothing to do with boats BUT MR BILL GATES I HATE YOUR WINDOWS ME EDITION! ITS A PIECE OF CRAP! WHY SELL PEOPLE CRAP!? ASSHOLE!

And the boating does not continue tonight unfortunatly. Due to it being a full moon and every one a bunch of fucking hippies. Also not getting a reply from Shipley >=[. I will not be particapating in the experience for tonight. Instead I'll carry on rambling about what we've done so far.

Heres a lovely shot of Shipley in the mean time =] [yes random shots of people will occour]. I want that guys hat!!! >____<;;

Lets talk repairing.
This boat is pretty much all about repairing. And to be honest no one has any idea what there actully doing. Stephens gone a bit trigger happy on teh ol liquied nails. But really its all about the most cost efficant way of fixing things. Aslong as it floats in the end... thats all we need to keep ourselves happy =].

As you can see there are various pieces of wood and loadsa other stuff involved in this picture. Our version of patching things up. As it goes, the wood was feeling... soft. We came to the conclusion that this part of the wood was rotton and needed to be taken out after much haxoring already. The wood was cut out in square shapes, which makes it simple [for stupid boys] to patch it up. =]. The hole was soon replaces with pieces of wood found in Shipleys garage. They were stuck on with liquied nail then screwed on tightly. Of course there being a larger piece of wood in the middle there was a gap! =O. But not too shortly fixed. The boat was then turned over to the bottom were the out line of the whole piece cut out would be traced. Then placed on the brand spanking new piece of ply, which would be cut out and fit nicely into place. With some liquied nails and more screws. Also not to forget some "no more gaps" was also used. =]. Sand it down and vola! Sorted!

Heres another repair job. Considering it was curved it was so much harder to repair!

But teh Nadia wins again! Ahaha stupid Shipley would have never figured out of cutting them where the join supporting thing is and pasting them on seperatly so it actully CURVES! xD

Ahaha moving on...

Sanding!!!!!

Before we even get near the paint. This piece of ship needs to be stripped naked! Thanks to Pat for the manly sanding tools [so we dont have to do it by hand]. We can now feel the vibrations of the sander on the boat making it smoother [erotic boat stuff xD... me being dodgy again... neh!]. So we have no idea wha this boat was actully painted with. Heres me sanding one entrie side of the boat. It comes to blowing my nose and what do I get? BLUE FUCKING SNOT! Theres a possiablity that this boat was painted in lead. And I just inhaled a shit loada leed. Im still alive now so I doubt any harm will come ot any of us. But still. Remember folks - always use a mask, it can prevent differnt coloured snot. =]

Next up. Fibre Glassing. =D

Total cost of Fibre Glass kit : $13. The amount of fibre glass provided. ^Thats pretty much it.

A slight dissapointment but we learn from these things =]. As safety requirments go. Gloves are need to hold fibre glass. Much risk taken if not worn. =]. So the fibre glass is used on half a patch... because there wasnt enough to cover a whole patch! -__-;;

After that dries its gonna be sanded. Sounds pretty pointless? Yeah I know what you mean =P. Any way after that we really couldnt so much else to it. It was getting too late for the sanding so we decided to call it a night. But before we did. That brush needed cleaning! In Methane! xD.

So a capful of the stuff was enough to wash the brush. Then there was enough to burn in the left overs! >=D Shipley must have been feeling a bit destructive. He just randomly set the thing alight. But teh flame was pretty! =O

It burns blue! =D

And thats it so far! Untill I get an invite to the next "fucking the boat up" metting. There will be no further reports nor photos!

Estimated time of float: Atlest 2-3weeks [due to payment and finding an engine]

So far so good ^________^;;
